Human Resources Assistant

Complete Mechanical Services is an award-winning Industrial General Contractor located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded over 25 years ago, we provide innovative solutions including capabilities in Project and Construction Management, 3D Scanning & Design, Shop Prefabrication, Plumbing and Civil/Site work.

We are currently  looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Blue Ash, Ohio.

JOB SUMMARY

As an HR Assistant, you will be a key member of our Human Resources team, responsible for supporting various HR functions to ensure the HR department is contributing to the overall success of Complete Mechanical Services. This role requires a combination of administrative skills, knowledge of HR policies and procedures, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment for all employees.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize various channels such as job boards, social media platforms, school partnerships, and networking events to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
  • Review resumes, conduct initial phone screenings, and coordinate interviews to assess candidate qualifications and cultural fit with the organization.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates, hiring managers, ensuring timely communication and a positive candidate experience throughout the process.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding activities and conduct new hire orientations to ensure that employees are onboarded in a positive manner with thorough information on company policies and procedures as well as accurate completion of required documents.
  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries, claims issues and the enrollment processes. Help with Open Enrollment activities as needed.
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate recruiting channels for effectiveness and implement changes as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Human Resources, suggesting process improvements and innovative strategies.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, or HR generalist functions.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must possess a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure during challenging times.
  • Ability to travel to local jobsites as needed.
