Mechanical Designer (Entry Level & Experienced)

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for creating/assisting with detailed piping isometric and orthographic drawings for all types of industrial projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create, modify, and maintain detailed piping drawings and 3D models for fabrication using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Utilize FARO scanning technology to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Provide a bill of materials.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of Plant3D specs and catalogs using the Spec Editor.
  • Maintain organized project files, documentation and ensure all revisions are accurately tracked.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices related to piping systems.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS

  • Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or relevant certification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Construction Management or a related field. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software (Plant 3D, Revit or Navisworks experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of piping systems, mechanical design principles, and relevant codes and standards is helpful but not required.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
